VientianeHalf day city tourYour half day city tour begins with the oldest temple in Vientiane, Wat Sisaket with thousands of miniature Buddha statues, and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which now serves as a museum of arts and antiques. Next, we visit Wat Simuang, a fascinating temple which is very popular pilgrimage for the locals. We then travel up Lanexang Avenue you will have the opportunity to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxai Monument, which resembles its Parisian inspiration, the Arc de Triomphe. The climb to the top offers great views over Vientiane. We continue onwards down Rue Singha 23 to Laos’ National icon, and most important religious building, the golden stupa of That Luang. The final visit of the day will be the excellent COPE exhibition centre, highlighting a much-overlooked aspect of Laos and a major problem many of the local people face on a day-to-day basis in the form of unexploded ordnance as a result of heavy bombing campaigns during the Vietnam War area. We then return to your hotel with the afternoon free at leisure.

Vientiane To Vang ViengVientiane –Vang Vieng by expresswayMid-morning, we check out of our hotel and leave Vientiane behind. Via the first expressway of Laos, which opened in 2020, we transfer in approx. 1½ hours to the town of Vang Vieng, which is nestled in between some stunning karst-mountain ranges. You can check into your hotel by early afternoon, with the rest of the day at leisure.

Vang ViengKhmu culture unraveledThis morning at 9AM, you will be met be a local guide who will take you to his hometown for the day. Head North and following the Nam Song River, until you reach a Khmu village called Ban Viengsamai You will be welcomed into a in the family’s home and meet the family. Learn from the guide about Lao and Khmu customs and traditions, including animism. Next, we walk to explore the village. First, we will visit the local knife smith who uses traditional techniques to create knifes. Be impressed by his skills, and give it a try yourself, if you like. We continue our explorations and trek through rice paddies to a cave on the other side of the Nam Song River, passing by farmers working on the fields. On the way, you will be taking rest in one of the local rice huts while learning more about the importance of agriculture in Laos. We then trek back to the family’s home, where the lady of the house will show you how she prepares local rice wine, called "Lao Hai". Next, enjoy lunch together with the family, and try the local rice wine if you like. Afterward, we will say goodbye to the family and transfer back to Vang Vieng, arriving by mid-afternoon with the rest of the day at leisure.

Vang Vieng To Luang PrabangLuang Prabang by train and City tourEnjoy your morning free at leisure. Check-out of the hotel, before being met local driver (no guide) for a short transfer to the train station for your train journey to Luang Prabang.
Train ride – VVG 10.45 AM – LPQ 11.49 AM.
Go through officialities and make yourself comfortable in the new train service, which is the first in Laos only started operations in December 2021. The trainline journeys through the Karst mountains of Northern Laos. Take in the village-life and mountain views while the trainline cuts straight through spectacular mountain sceneries, crossing numerous bridges and tunnels. A final tunnel brings us to the plain where this train station of Luang Prabang is nestled in the mountains. Disembark the train and exit the train station where your guide and driver will meet you for a short transfer to your hotel to check-in and to freshen up for your time in Luang Prabang.
In the afternoon, we start our half day city tour with a visit of the quaint Royal Palace Museum that provides a fine overview of the culture and history of this ancient city. We follow the quiet back lanes to the beautiful Heuan Chan Heritage House. Explore the house and its historical items and architectural charms while learning about the connection it has with the Royal Palace. . After a refreshing Iced Tea in the gardens, we continue our walk up the peninsula to the country’s most historic and enchanting temple, Wat Xiengthong. With its roof that sweeps low towards the ground, this temple's architecture best represents the classical Luang Prabang style. We wander the temple grounds before crossing the road to Wat Khili where this temple’s charming traditional library building houses an historic photo exhibition of Buddhist heritage. Our final visit today is the excellent ‘Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre’, which gives a great insight into the rich and diverse ethnic and cultural blend of Laos.

Luang PrabangKuang Si waterfalls and Mekong cruiseAfter breakfast, we transfer out of town which takes us to the beautiful Kuang Si Waterfall where you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the turquoise pool or walk along the forest trails. Next to the falls is a Bear Rescue Centre, which does a great job in protecting and rehabilitating the rare Asiatic Black Bear.
We then transfer to the Mekong Riverside, where we board a private boat for a gentle cruise upstream this mighty river back to Luang Prabang. Enjoy the tranquil countryside passing by before we arrive back in Luang Prabang with the rest of the day at leisure.

Siem ReapKampong Khleang
You will leave Siem Reap town around 8.30 a.m. and set out in one of our wonderful vintage jeeps into the beautiful countryside. You will then cycle along the flat, red dirt roads through local villages stopping at the local fish market to observe traditional Khmer fish trade. After more cycling and refreshments you will visit one of the most impressive floating villages in Cambodia – Kompong Khleang. You will board a boat to explore the floating village before sharing a typical Khmer lunch with very friendly locals in their stilt home. Afterwards, you will visit an island pagoda with a monk’s school. Next, you will proceed to the Vietnamese floating village where you will visit the floating school, a hospital, local shops, and even a hair dresser. The houses there are built on floating objects that rise and fall with the water! A spectacular sight indeed. At the end of the day you will drive back to Siem Reap, stopping once more to interact further with friendly villagers, before arriving back around 5 p.m.Accommodation
