Cambodia
Cambodia is a kingdom in Southeast Asia. It is 181,035 square kilometres (69,898 square miles) in area, bordered by Thailand to the northwest, Laos to the northeast, Vietnam to the east, and the Gulf of Thailand to the southwest. Cambodia has a population of over 15 million. The official religion is Theravada Buddhism, practiced by approximately 95 percent of the population. The country's minority groups include Vietnamese, Chinese, Chams, and 30 hill tribes. The capital and largest city is Phnom Penh, the political, economic, and cultural centre of Cambodia. The kingdom is a constitutional monarchy with Norodom Sihamoni, a monarch chosen by the Royal Throne Council, as head of state. The head of government is Hun Sen, who is currently the longest serving non-royal leader in South East Asia and has ruled Cambodia for over 30 years. Cambodia has become a popular destination and the country is developing fast. The city of Siem Reap was about thirteen years ago a small place with dirt roads and one traffic light, nowadays is the most touristic city of the country and the historical heart of Cambodia. The temples of Angkor is about seven kilometers of the city center and there are a lot of facilities to entertain the tourists from all over the world. But Cambodia is not only Angkor Wat. This fascinating, friendly country has so much more to offer. Countryside tours, floating villages, white sand beaches, tropical islands, jungle trekking, the mighty Mekong river, bicycle tours, cooking class, waterfalls, hilltribes, and much more.

Siem Reap to Preah Vihear
The pyramid temple
From Siem Reap, we drive first to Beng Melea, the mysterious 12th century temple in the middle of the jungle. This temple is heavily overgrown with vegetation, trees, lianas and mosses. After lunch, we visit Koh Kor, the capital city from 928 to 944 AD located in the northeast of Angkor. The temple is very secluded and is often overlooked because of its remote location. Finally, we journey on to Preah Vihear. Meanwhile, you can relax and enjoy the picturesque scenery on the way. When we arrive, you will check in at the resort and enjoy the facilities.

Preah Vihear to Stung Treng
Rapids in the Mekong
To get to the Preah Vihear Temple, a local pickup truck takes you up the steep hillside where a local guide will show you around. The continuation of the journey takes us on a blend of tarmac and dirt roads along the Laos border. The dirt roads have been improved to allow a much quicker journey than in the past. After an enjoyable lunch on the banks of the Mekong River, you then proceed to the picturesque Sopheakmit Waterfall, Cambodia’s largest waterfall along the Mekong. This hidden gem is surrounded by islands and endless waterways. Its water, often a dazzling jade in colour, crashes over the numerous rocks and is particularly vigorous in rainy season. Banlung to Jungle Stay
Adventure in Virachey National Park
This trekking is approximately 13km with easy to moderate difficulty levels. We assemble at the office at 8:00am and depart for Voensai District at 8:30am. After ferrying across the Sesan River, we drive on for an hour through secondary forests observing the lifestyle of the indigenous people living in this remote area close to the Virachey National Park. At the VNP border, we will stop for lunch at the home of a Kavet indigenous family on a beautiful spot beside a river with clear waters, surrounded by lush forests and hills. The trek to the waterfalls is about 2.5hrs. After lunch, we take an easy 20-minute hike towards the river where the main trekking begins. This river runs deeper with strong current in the rainy season. We store our things in waterproof carry-on bags before wading across to a scenic primary forest. As we hike through the dense jungle, our local guide will show you how to search for and use some of the natural resources at hand. We might get lucky and spot some native wildlife on the way. When we arrive at the waterfalls, we take another break for snacks and perhaps a dip in the river. We then journey on for about an hour through primary and bamboo forests towards the O’Lalai River where our community boat awaits. The boat takes us downstream where you might glimpse native birds, primates and reptiles along the river. At around 5:00pm, we will be back at the Kavet family to drop off our luggage and get ready for our climb up the hill. It will be such a treat to watch the sunset and the spectacular views around the national park!

River rafting will be a thoroughly relaxing way to travel after all the adventures from the previous day. You can go for a swim or simply gaze at the fascinating wildlife by the riverside. When we get to the main village of the Kavet people, lunch will be served at the guide’s family. He will talk about his people and their customs and traditions. At around 4pm, we take you back to Banlung.

Banlung to Sen Monorom
Fly like an eagle
In the morning, you drive south to Sen Monorom, making a stop at the mesmerising Bou Sra Waterfall which is the setting for this adventure-packed day. The Bou Sra Waterfall is the largest in Cambodia boasting a three-level waterfall with the top tier height of about 12m, 25m in the middle, and 4m in the bottom tier. It is a magnificent sight tumbling through a gorge in the jungle. The Mayura Zipline with its 7 ziplines, 9 platforms, 1 sky bridge and a 100-meter high zip over the falls will be an exhilarating new experience for you. The longest zipline runs for 300m traversing the waterfall at a height of 100m, while the six others transport you through the dense jungle canopy. Each of the 9 treetop stations grant you a fantastic view of the landscape. The Mayura Zipline is a ‘must try’ activity guaranteed to be fun for all ages. It operates an eco-friendly and zero carbon footprints policy to help ensure the future of the area. The platforms are also built using bolt-free designs to protect trees and wildlife. After leaving Bou Sra, you journey on to Mondulkiri, a province known for its natural beauty, thickly forested mountains, powerful waterfalls and the lush green rolling hills on its western side.
