Cambodia has a population of over 15 million. The official religion is Theravada Buddhism, practiced by approximately 95 percent of the population. The country's minority groups include Vietnamese, Chinese, Chams, and 30 hill tribes. The capital and largest city is Phnom Penh, the political, economic, and cultural centre of Cambodia. The kingdom is a constitutional monarchy with Norodom Sihamoni, a monarch chosen by the Royal Throne Council, as head of state. The head of government is Hun Sen, who is currently the longest serving non-royal leader in South East Asia and has ruled Cambodia for over 30 years. Cambodia has become a popular destination and the country is developing fast. The city of Siem Reap was about thirteen years ago a small place with dirt roads and one traffic light, nowadays is the most touristic city of the country and the historical heart of Cambodia. The temples of Angkor is about seven kilometers of the city center and there are a lot of facilities to entertain the tourists from all over the world. But Cambodia is not only Angkor Wat. This fascinating, friendly country has so much more to offer. Countryside tours, floating villages, white sand beaches, tropical islands, jungle trekking, the mighty Mekong river, bicycle tours, cooking class, waterfalls, hilltribes, and much more.

Impressive group of pre-Angkorian monuments
Your private taxi will bring to Siem Reap and stop over at Pre-Angkorian temple complex of Sambor Prei Kuk. It is nestled beautifully in the forests of Kampong Thom and is the oldest temple complex in Cambodia dating from the 6th and 7th century. On arrival, you get a bike from the locals, and visit the three main temples with your guide. The narrow paths through the forests will lead you to discover a temple around every corner, all completely overgrown with vegetation. If you are not comfortable with riding bikes, we can do the tour on foot or by car. After visiting the temples, we head back to Siem Reap and arrive late in the afternoon.

Explore the temples by Tuktuk (small tour)
After breakfast, you will be picked up by your guide in a tuk-tuk (the famous Cambodian tricycle consisting of a motorcycle and a cabin) to explore one of the largest and most beautiful temple complexes in the world, Angkor Wat complex. This world heritage site originates from the 12th century and provides a mystical experience of beautiful sculptures and stunning architecture.
First, you will visit the stunning Angkor Wat temple itself where we will explore the wonderful site with all of its majesty. After a short refreshment break, you will take the short drive to Angkor Thom, which contains, among others, the spectacular 12th century Bayon. The 54 four-headed Buddha statues are one of the most impressive sights of the temple complex and provide exceptional photo opportunities. Later that day, we will visit the Ta Phrom temple. This iconic temple remains partly overgrown with trees and gigantic roots, that have ‘nestled’ themselves on and in the stone blocks, making a truly striking visual image. After a long, rewarding day, you will be returned to your hotel to relax.

After more cycling and refreshments you will visit one of the most impressive floating villages in Cambodia – Kampong Khleang.
In rainy season you will board a boat to explore the village before sharing a typical Khmer lunch with very friendly locals in their stilt home. Afterwards, you will visit an island pagoda with a monk’s school.
